Civil Engineering is considered to be the most versatile branch among all the engineering branches. It is the branch with a lot of diversity from Geotechnical Engineering to Structural engineering, Environmental to Hydraulics, Transportation to Hydrology; Civil Engineering can be considered as a single largest branch among all the engineering branches.

The Department of Civil Engineering since its formation is committed to research and development in Societal Infrastructure. The vision of the department is to give an exposure to Civil Engineers to various challenges in the profession.

1. Possess educational foundation that prepares them for careers/ higher studies in the field of civil engineering.
2. Possess in depth knowledge of the core discipline (structural, environment and transportation, water & soil engineering, surveying, etc.) required to successfully design of structures, conduct experiments and devise technically sound, cost effective, environment friendly solutions to civil engineering problems.
3. Be efficient leaders, effective communicators, capable of working efficiently in diverse teams, promote and practice appropriate ethical and moral values and work for the betterment of society.
4. Be capable to learn and adapt new technologies as per requirements of civil engineering sector and will be lifelong learners.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs)

1. Apply knowledge of mathematics through differential equations, calculus-based physics, chemistry, and computer programming in different areas, consistent with the program educational objectives.
2. Conduct civil engineering experiments related to environment, structural analysis, and design (steel and concrete), survey, geotechnical, hydraulic & water resources and transportation; analyze and interpret the resulting data.
